Rain Clouds in Monarch Beach
This winter which happens to be a lot less milder than last year here in California, I’ve been admiring great dramatic skies and weather. And I’ve been drawn to photograph these awe inspiring, emotion invoking cumulus clouds.

Fire and Smoke
Canon 5D MkII, EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS.
These photos were taken in November 2008 during one of California’s worst wildfires. Two bright yellow and red planes flying back and forth, my guess to the closest body of water I can think, Puddingstone Reservoir in San Dimas. The smoke looked very close but actually was not cause for alarm. Â The sky gave an eerie sight of the destruction occurring not so far away in the distance.

The little camera that could
Ricoh GXR, Ricoh Lens P10 28-300mm F3.5-5.6.
This little camera can really do tricks. I’m not accustomed to shooting without a viewfinder but with a some use and a little patience, it’s a creative P&S.
