Partial Solar Eclipse – May 20, 2012

On May 20th, a Sunday of all days, there I witnessed and photographed, my first solar eclipse. A partial solar eclipse to be exact. Though I’ve heard in news many such occurances, I’ve never really put my eye’s up to the heavens to witness and photograph such an event. Twice I’ve captured on camera, planes passing the full moon. See post here and here. But a celestial body crossing another is another thing altogether.

World Market Center, Las Vegas

I’ve used probably some five rolls of Fujicolor’s NPS 160 film now and what I’ve noticed about this “cool” film is it’s fine uniform grain and bluish/purplish tones. For skin, it’s actually not too bad but requires a little post processing utilizing curves in Photoshop. However, I believe the best use of this film is for architecture, especially on clear blue skies.
