Vote 2008

On the morning of November 4, we walked to the voting booth at our community park.  Shepard asked, “where are we going?”  I replied, “we’re going to the park to vote.”  To which my oldest asked, “what’s vote?”  So I explained to him briefly but the thought of going to the park was enough for him to accept our excursion to one of his favorite places and he didn’t pursue his questioning any further.  So off we went for a stroll.  It was a very nice cool day; it had rained the night before and everything was still wet.  It was as if the rain signified a change in the season.  The kids enjoyed the playground as we cast our ballot one at a time at the polling station.  Breakfast at Starbucks made it an extra special day.
