‘Preying’ Mantes

Nikon F3, Nikon Nikkor AF Micro 60mm f/2.8D.

To get up close and personal with two praying mantes, I used a borrowed Nikon 60mm 2.8D Micro lens to see their sharp grasping forelegs called “raptorial legs” . To a common housefly, this view might be the last thing they’ll see before being devoured head first in these death traps. Bon appetite.
